Vice Presidential Debate: What I’d like to hear….
For those of you old enough to remember, back in the 1988 Vice Presidential debates, the late Senator Lloyd Bensen, running mate of Michael Dukakis, stole the show with this great zinger after Senator Dan Quayle, George Bush’s running mate, compared himself to President John Kennedy:
“Senator, I served with Jack Kennedy: I knew Jack Kennedy; Jack Kennedy was a friend of mine. Senator, you’re no Jack Kennedy.”
When Senator Joseph Biden finally gets to debate Gov. Sarah Palin in the only Vice Presidential debate of the season, I hope to hear the following:
“Governor, I served with Dan Quayle: I know Dan Quayle; Dan Quayle is a friend of mine. Governor, you’re no Dan Quayle.”
Hear me now! If those words are uttered by Joe Biden during the debate, I will go out and buy a huge public announcement system, ala Jake & Elwood Blues in The Blues Brothers, playing the sound bite on an endless loop until election day.
Please, please, Joe. Make it happen.

Today I had the pleasure of chatting with and listening to a brief presentation by conservationist, biologist & TV personality Jeff Corwin.
